Eric Finstick Wilderness Stewardship Award -- June 14, 2008

Sally and I are setting up an annual statewide BLM award titled the "Eric Finstick Wilderness Stewardship ward".  The award will be for an individual (employee and/or volunteer), or work unit exhibiting exemplary leadership and commitment to not only wilderness, but all aspects of the NLCS program here in CO.  It will be an annual award...we'll begin this FY.  Miss you all...take care...Dave Hunsaker Services for Eric Finstick, who passed away June 8 th. after a valiant fight with cancer, are as follows:       - Memorial Church Service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 969 Ulysses, Golden, CO at 10 am, Tuesday, June 24th. - Memorial Outdoor Service at Golden Gate Canyon State Park, 3878 Highway 36, Golden, CO (Time TBA and probable location is Red Barn Group     Picnic Site) on Wednesday, June 25th. The Wilderness Society, Colorado Chapter, is coordinating these arrangements.) Address for cards is Family & Friends of Eric Finstick c/o Donna Valori, 18228 W. Third Avenue, Golden, CO 80401-4802. Any donations will be sent to Indiana Dunes National Seashore Association, Michigan City, Indiana (Eric's hometown) or a charity of your choice, as desired.) Sally Wisely will be presenting Eric's family and close friends with a BLM plaque commemorating Eric's years of service in protecting and managing wildlands and special places. Sally and Dave Hunsaker wanted to use this occasion to initiate the "Eric Finstick Wilderness Stewardship Award"  to honor this employee's dedication and vision and to continue this annual award for future deserving recipients in Colorado.

Bryan Bracken to Retire June 26, 2008--June 14, 2008

We are planning a retirement party for Bryan Bracken on June 26, 2008 at 1130 at Famous Daves in St. George.  We would like to invite everyone to attend.  The cost will be $15.00 per person.  Please RSVP Michelle Petty or Terry Swinscoe by June 23, 2008.
